Summary: I am really tired of people vigorously defending imaginative fiction against non-existent stigma. There is a strong opinion among SF authors, SF readers and some critics here, that majority of readers won't touch SF or fantasy book with a 10ft pole because they consider it no-brainer primitive reading for infantile idiots. The fact is, that I only hear these derogatory words from SF&Fantasy lovers, and most of reading and writing people I encounter either like that genre or they just prefer some other kinds of books, without spitting poison in direction of imaginative fiction. Of course there is a small percentage of very snooty readers, who look with disgust on all books which weren't written by Nobel laureates. But they are very few and who cares about their taste.
